FRIDAY 3/12/2010 UPDATE
So, why do I have Rhode Island as my last NCAA at large team? Well, right now I see there being 1 bid to be distributed amongst the following teams: Miss St., Rhode Island, Memphis, Minnesota, Illinois, Dayton, and St. Louis. Of those 7 teams: Memphis has no games left to improve their resume; Minnesota and Illinois likely need to win 1 more game, and are steep underdogs in their respective matchups; Dayton needs to beat Xavier, where they are underdogs; St. Louis likely needs to win two more games; Mississippi St. has what essentially amounts to an even matchup against Florida. That leaves Rhode Island who is favored to get a decent win against St. Louis. Given how the bubble has collapsed in recent days, I think a win here gets URI in, and I think they have the best chance of any of those teams of getting a quality win.

More bad news for NIT bubble squads: Jackson St. lost in the SWAC tourney (last night, duh). Kent St. loses in the MAC tourney and snatches up the 8th automatic bid of the year. Five potential NIT bid stealers remain in play: UCSB (BW), Morgan St. (MEAC), Lehigh (PAT), Sam Houston St. (Slnd), Utah St. (WAC).
